A Picture is Worth More Than 1000 Words - Try $14 million

Now pardon me for being naive or just in awe of what people will do these days. But I think it's absolutely ridiculous for anyone to pay $14 million for pics of anything unless it's a sighting of the second coming of JESUS!

People magazine and England's Hello magazine have jointly purchased the "first" photos of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's twins, what's her name and what's his name. Now the couple "claim" the money will go directly to charity. I wonder which charity that's going to be...Oh yeah, that's right they conveniently have their own charity, The Jolie-Pitt Foundation .

Charitable contributions are always such an excellent tax write-off!!!

This is the highest purse ever - topping J. Lo's chump change of $6 million she was paid for her bundles of joy to be photo'd. I love celebrity news just like the next guy. But is this our fault? Have we turned these stars into above-human beings? These babies look just like any other newborns. Heck, I bet they don't even look as good as my two adorable mini me's (only in a mother's eyes folks...only in a mother's eyes)

I'm advertising right now! I'm offering my kid's pics to the highest bidder! Let's start the bidding around, say $100 bucks. But I am willing to negotiate.

hi roschelle,

the world does seem a bit upside down. if the photographers have that kind of money to spend for a picture, why don't they donate it to a charity that needs it, right here, in our United States?

because that wouldn't sell magaizines, but, i think it would. wouldn't we read a magazine that just donated to build a hospital for kids? or shelter for the homeless? i won't hold my breathe on that one,

good article,

my best,

thanks sue, I agree completely. And I love People magazine but I'm boycotting this edition. I refuse to make something that people do everyday (start families) a priority on my list of things to read about and gawk at.
